John-Jonne Smith is a comedian actor, writer, and producer. Born to a 13-year-old teen mom, John-Jonne was raised by his grandmother Bertha in Marion, IN, and moved to Los Angeles following high school. Finding his way, John-Jonne has worked for industry vets, Tisha Campbell-Martin and Duane Martin, CW All American, Empire casting director Leah Daniels-Butler and Jessie Collins Entertainment to name a few, and became a first-generation graduate of California State University, Northridge where he majored in communication studies and film. During his time in LA, John-Jonne began to experience hair loss and was uncertain of how it happened. He later turned his pain and confusion into comedy by creating cinematic sketches with influencer comedian friends such as Daphnique Springs where videos have reached millions of households and cell phones.

Currently, John-Jonne has created, written, produced, and starred in his own web series based on his real-life interactions dealing with male pattern baldness for anyone dealing with hair loss of any kind titled “Bald: The Series” which also has guest stars Dominique Perry of HBO’s “Insecure” and KeVontay Jackson of the upcoming fourth and final season of “Dear White People”. The web series thus far has gone viral over TikTok and Instagram platforms and has received a collective 1.5 million views and counting.
